Yields: 5 Dozen Mini Pizzas

Comment:
Are you looking for an easy appetizer for your July 4th get-together? Well, look no further. These party pizzas will be a huge hit!

Ingredients:
1 pound ground hot breakfast sausage
½ pound ground beef
½ pound ground pork
2 cups diced onions
½ cup diced green bell peppers
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 pound Velveeta® cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
½ tbsp chopped oregano leaves
½ tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp granulated garlic
2 loaves mini rye bread, sliced

Method:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a medium baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside. In a heavy-bottomed saucepot, cook ground meat over medium-high heat. Cook until meat is golden brown then drain off fat and return pot to stove. NOTE: If you cook the meat in a longer, slower fashion, you will bring out the best flavor. Into the saucepot, add onions, bell peppers and minced garlic then sauté 3–5 minutes or until vegetables are wilted. Add Velveeta® cheese and stir until melted and well blended. Season with oregano, cumin, cayenne pepper and granulated garlic. Spread 1 tablespoon of meat mixture onto each rye bread slice. Place on prepared baking sheet and cook in oven 10–15 minutes or until lightly browned and heated through. Serve immediate
ly.
